Two words best describe Monaco resident and media mogul Luiz Costa Macambira: Think big.
As the publisher of The Monegasque™ and Forbes Monaco admits, “I hate to be a sheep and follow people. If somebody’s going north, I will go south – even if I don’t know whether it’s the right path.”
The Brazilian-born Monegasque entrepreneur and media tycoon’s life reads like a modern saga of global ambition, influence and celebrity. After earning a law degree in Rio, he moved to the U.S. and set his sights on commodity trading where he earned the nickname “King of Coffee” for expanding into Russia.
Fluent in multiple languages, the Monaco resident went on to become the CEO, Publisher and Executive Editor of Forbes Monaco and Forbes Netherlands. And with a digital rolodex of billionaires and famous names, he took his publishing vision a step further and launched The Monegasque™, a magazine for the country’s sophisticated, well-educated and affluent elite.
Dynamic and driven, Luiz is also the mastermind behind the Principality’s first art biennial.
